Western red cedar outside, one welded stainless steel tub inside. Circle or stadium, six sizes, two heights, built to order.
Run it cold as an ice bath in summer or hot as a home onsen in winter. Add a chiller and it cools and heats from 0 to 42 °C, and the spout pours either way.
Why the water sits in stainless steel, not wood: the cedar stays dry, so it doesn't swell, stain or rot from within. The inner tub is one non-porous welded surface with no seams or open grain, so it cleans in minutes: drain, wipe and refill. And it takes a chiller or heater running round the clock.
Choose 304 stainless steel for most homes, and 316 by the sea, beside a chlorinated pool or for commercial use.

Circle baths are for sitting upright, knees raised. Stadium baths are for lying back, legs out. Water fills to 20 cm · 8 in below the rim.
Up to 600 L suits the 1 HP chiller, up to 1,000 L the 1.5 HP, and anything larger the 2 HP. In full sun, choose one size up.

Placement
Stand it on level ground with a drain or run-off point nearby, and a power point if you add a chiller.
Check the delivery route. The tightest point is usually a gate or side path.
Filled, a Ø 200 cm · 79 in circle at 80 cm · 31 in high holds 1,774 kg · 3,911 lb of water. On timber decks, roof terraces or suspended slabs, have a structural engineer sign it off.

Care
The cedar needs no sealing. Oil it once a year if you want to keep the honey colour.
With a chiller, run the ozone for 30–60 minutes after each session with the lid on. Hydrogen peroxide keeps the water clear between changes: check it weekly with a test strip.
If the timber settles in the first months, tighten the bands by hand.
